BMW iDrive given an Upgrade

iDrive has given its multi-functional rotary controller an upgrade.The system earlier known for not giving a satisfactory result,hopes for giving a better result this time.New features have been added and the BMW driver will have much control over the system.


The iDrive meant to give an enhance to the navigation,entertainment and vehicle functionality and give it a compact look,was given a 'worse response' earlier because of being uncooperative.The new iDrive gives the driver a much better interface with the system.

Now,the driver can change the door look settings,tire pressure and watch instructional videos (only when the car is stopped).However,BMW still needs to remove the driver distraction problem,the voice recognition software also needs some serious amendments.

The iDrive will come up with the 7-Series,but cost $2000 on the 3 & 1-Series.

Asus is coming out with its new portable GPS device the R710.It comes with the pathfinder HUD (head-up-display) giving this new GPS gadget an edge over the others available.But still it is yet to be seen whether the HUD will work fine or disappoint,cant really say anything about it now.

Future Internet Access from LED Lighting

Scientists are always working on new things.Its always a wonderful to see new ideas warming up.The new buzz in town is the use of Wi-Fi internet under LED lighting.This may sound impossible but its very much achievable,as the scientists are very much confident that they would develop this concept into reality.

Smart Lightning Engineering Research Center will be carried forward by Boston University,Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of New Mexico.The US Nation Science Foundation is funding $18.5M for this project.

The concept is very simple,to use LED lights in replacement of the currently used bulbs,these LEDS lightnings will be transmitting signals and any internet device put under them will have access to use internet.They will need no extra power,working on the same power source of the bulb which they will replace.

If this project gets successful,it will solve alot of problems,like saving almost 50 Billion US dollars and reduce environmental problems.

Concept gadgets are my favorite to write and read,because they are much more exciting then the usual.Do you liked how superman watched through walls,and you wished you could do the same.Well KDDI scientists have developed a concept mobile phone which will be able to see through walls etc.

Prototype of the mobile is made up of geomagnetic sensors,accelerometers,GPS etc. It is equipped with high technology,enabling it to determine its own position and also render its surroundings on screen in OpenGL,consisting on areas that are not visible.But the mobile is only in theory and not yet final to be in commercial phase.

I personally believe that this mobile phone can take up the market by storm,but it would be expensive,in my opinion.
