Science, Technology and Society (STS) is an interdisciplinary field that studies the conditions under which the production, distribution and utilization of scientific knowledge and technological systems occur; the consequences of these activities upon different groups of people. They can work as an application programmer, system designer, system analyst, quality analyst, online editor, system administrator, enterprise information officer, maintenance technician, computer support specialist, legal information specialist, database administrator, strategic information planner and much more coveted occupations.
Undergraduates interact extensively with faculty who are conducting federally funded research and serving as mentors for deaf and hard of hearing students and scientists throughout the nation. These studies attributed female studentÂ’s lesser skills set to two statistically significant factors: 1) less experience playing with building toys and 2) having taken less drafting courses prior to the engineering program.
The Carnegie-Mellon Study took into account the differences of what engages female students and modified the Computer Science programsÂ’ curriculum so that the context for the program was taught much earlier on in the semester and moved some of the more technical aspects of the curriculum (such as coding) to later in the semester.
The term science also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. The science and technology (S&T) enterprise is increasingly central to global transformations and developments; S&T policy, in turn, by virtue of its key role in guiding and managing this enterprise, is also gaining in importance.

The Culinary Historians of Southern California (CHSC), founded in 1995, is a group of scholars, cooks, food writers, nutritionists, collectors, students, and others interested in the study of culinary history and gastronomy.
As part of our ongoing improvement efforts, we conduct a systematic peer review process at our regional science centers and national Office of Science and Technology to improve integration, identify best practices, and share successes and challenges within our science enterprise.
